Rationale
Based on the Linear No-Threshold (LNT) model:
- Any radiation dose, no matter how small, carries a risk of biological harm (e.g., stochastic effects like cancer).
- Therefore, exposures must be kept well below regulatory dose limits whenever reasonably possible.
