• It is non-neoplastic, but important due to its risk of pathologic fracture.

Epidemiology

• Age: Common in children and adolescents, typically between 5 and 15 years
• Sex: Male > Female (2–3:1)
• Incidence: Second most common cystic lesion in bone (after aneurysmal bone cyst)

3. Clinical Features

Common Locations

• Proximal humerus (~50–60%)
• Proximal femur
• Other rare sites: calcaneus, ilium, tibia, fibula

Often asymptomatic but may present with:

• Pathological fracture (first presenting sign)
• Localized pain or swelling (if complicated)
