Splinter hemorrhages: Formed by the extravasation of blood from the longitudinally oriented vessels of the nail bed.

• Psoriasis (M/C)
• Other causes: Infective endocarditis, rheumatic heart disease, valvular replacement, SLE, antiphospholipid syndrome, IV drug abusers, and congenital heart diseases
